About therapy
-
I believe in the power of collaboration and tailoring what I can offer to fit your unique needs, values, and goals.
We will start by mapping out a detailed sense of your main problems and how you would like things to change. Then we can decide together where to start and what kind of therapy would be most helpful.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is about looking at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and how they interact and impact on your mood.
Together we can think about any changes to how you are thinking or responding that could improve how you feel.
-
EMDR is about using eye movements to help us process painful memories and experiences. It is particularly good at changing how you feel about traumatic experiences.
-
Both CBT and EMDR are generally short-term therapies. This means usually we would have between 6 - 20 sessions.
We can discuss this in more detail together and make a plan for your specific situation.
-
We will usually meet weekly for 50-60 minutes, using Zoom. Occasionally we might book a longer session if required.
Online therapy is a very effective and convenient way to fit sessions into your life around other commitments.
-
My standard rate for a session is £100 per hour.
This is payable prior to the appointment.
-
Yes, I am registered with AXA Health and Aviva. If you have access via insurance with these companies please do get in touch and we can talk through the process.
FAQs

Information you share with me is confidential. That means I won't share it with anyone else.
The exception to this is if I'm worried about you or someone else coming to harm, and then I would need to get additional help.
Any private information such as session notes are stored securely and disposed of once finished.
We can talk more about this in our first session together.

Let's find out!
We can start with an assessment and then if I'm not the right person I'll be able to help point you in the direction of what I think could help.
-
It's really normal to find it hard to put how you are feeling into words, or to not be sure why you are feeling a certain way.
This is something we can unpick together when we start with understanding your situation in more detail.

I am registered and accredited with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
In order to be accredited I completed a specialist training course with King's College London in 2016, and have a commitment to maintain my expertise in line with their framework.
I am also a member of the EMDR association having completed my EMDR training with the EMDR Academy in 2018.
